Alene Smith, a beloved housewife and devoted family member, passed away on April 7, 2025, at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born on June 6, 1951, in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Al and Ollie Smith.

Alene loved her family deeply and consistently went out of her way to care for those around her. Her passion for watching old westerns was rivaled only by her love for gardening, where she found peace and joy among her plants. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She always done whatever she could to help someone out. Expecting nothing in return. She had the biggest heart when it came to her grandbabies. Boy they could do no wrong. She was very contagious, always happy and smiling and Lord knows she never met a stranger. She most of all loved God, she prayed for her kids, grandkids, the world and much more. I know Heaven is shining brighter mom. We will love you for the rest of our lives.

Alene is preceded in death by her Parents, Al Smith and Ollie Dean Smith; her Daughter, Robin Pierce and her Sister, Brenda Smith.

She is survived by her loving Husband, Buford Hinkle; Son, Gordon Pierce; Daughter, Candace Craft and husband Larry. Alene also leaves behind her beloved Brothers, Ernest Smith and Michael Smith; Her cherished Sisters, Alberta English, Teresa Truelove and husband Keith, Veronica Bragg and husband Jeff, Arnetta Smith and partner Pat and Vivian Smith. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Shane English and Wife Amanda, Dylan English, Dallas English, Anthony Pitmon, Blake Morman and Paulette Pierce. Many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends also survive her, carrying forward the love she generously shared throughout her life.

Visitation for Mrs. Alene will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 3PM to 4PM at the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Smith with the Funeral beginning at 4PM. Burial will follow at Hensley Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
