Alex Cooper, 28, of Ithaca, passed away on February 12, with his mother by his side.
Alex was preceded in death by the son of his heart, Rykelan Brown, and his sister, Cherish Cooper. The loss of Rykelan weighed heavily on his heart.
Born into a large and loving family, Alex was the cherished son of Michelle and Brian Austin of Ithaca and Leon Rathbun of Interlaken. Family was at the center of Alex’s life, and he shared close bonds with his many siblings: Erica Rowland (Todd) of Dryden; Christy Johnson (Robert) of Groton; Katelyn Cooper of Interlaken; Ashley Hathaway of Interlaken; Nickolas Cooper of Groton; Leanne Redmond (Michael) of Kentucky; Tandom Miller (Christoffer) of Interlaken; and Samantha Cooper of Las Vegas, Nevada. He also held a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews, who brought him great pride and joy.
Alex will be remembered for the deep love he held for his family and for the connections he made throughout his life. He had a way of forming lasting bonds and leaving a meaningful impression on those he met. Though his time here was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends.
Calling Hours Will Be held on Saturday, February 21, from 4-6pm at Bangs Funeral Home
