In Loving Memory of Alex Smolecki, who tragically passed away on February 25th, 2025.
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Alex, a beloved son, grandson, brother, godfather, and boyfriend.
Alex was a passionate swimmer, who found joy and purpose in the water, always pushing himself and inspiring those around him. He was an avid traveler and hiker, drawn to new places and the beauty of the outdoors. Whether in the pool, on the trail, or exploring the world, he embraced every challenge with energy and determination.
Beyond his adventures, Alex was kind and loyal, always ready with a smile and words of encouragement. Though his time with us was short, his impact will be felt forever.
Alex is survived by his parents Bozena Smolecka and Stanislaw Smolecki, siblings Magdalena (Adam) Maslach and Sebastian Smolecki, goddaughter Oliwia Maslach, grandparents Wladyslawa and the late Stanislaw Smolecki and Katarzyna and the late Michal Nawiesniak, godfather Rene Jancek and girlfriend Julia Urbas. He is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles, and relatives, and he will be truly missed by many friends and teammates.
Though he left us too soon, we will carry his adventurous spirit and loving heart with us forever.

Visitation, Monday, March 3, 2025, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice, Illinois.
Funeral, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, 9:00AM Prayers and Procession to begin from the funeral home to Our Lady Mother of the Church Polish Mission, 116 Hilton Street, Willow Springs, Illinois for 10:00AM Mass.
Interment, Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, Illinois.

Alex was one of the best teammates we could have asked for. Every race he swam and opportunity we had, our class cheered the loudest for him. We practiced together every Tuesday, and he will always be my favorite practice buddy. Sending so much love from our class to your family

Alex was a wonderful person with a kind spirit. I had the pleasure of supervising him during his time as a lifeguard, pool manager, and friend at the Palos Heights Pool. The entire City of Palos Heights staff extends our deepest condolences to his parents, family, and friends. Alex built so many friendships during his years at the pool, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
