Alex and I studied together at CIIS. I found him to be remarkably intelligent and one of the most patient listeners I ever encountered. Insights would stream into me during our conversations. I don't think he ever knew how much I adored his company. Musing on him today, I looked him up and am deeply saddened to find out his passing. He made my world a brighter place and for that I am forever grateful to you, Alex.

I worked with Alex at Kinkos and Bradford Adams in the 90s. As two intellectuals working the night shift to sustain ourselves, we had many conversations that I will always cherish. Alex was a great listener whose sensibilities and humor lifted those around him. Beth, please hold on to all the wonderful times with Alex.

I too, shocked and saddened to hear of Alex's passing. He was such a good guy -- funny, smart, compassionate, with a human touch for everyone he met. We were roommates together in Northampton, MA in the late 80's. Alex was a calm and steady presence for me when my life was anything but. The world suddenly feels a little bit smaller; but perhaps the stars are shining brighter. You will be missed. Happy Trails, Alex

I am terribly shocked and saddened to learn of Alex's passing. We were friends and housemates in college, and though we lost touch over the years, some of my most vivid and fondest memories from that time involve Alex. Alex was kind, brilliant, creative and thoughtful. More often than not the smartest person in the room. My condolences to Alex's family and friends. May the universe embrace his light and keep him tenderly.

Alex was my first cousin and my friend. I will miss our talks and laughing together. He was a thoughtful and insightful man, who cared about those around him. I have fond memories of going to the movies and just hanging out together when we were kids and as young adults. Even though we did not see each other as much as time moved on, when we did, it felt like home. Will miss you, Cousin. You live on in all of us. Travel well to the other side.

My sweet brother was beyond kind and always a champion against all things malevolent and hurtful. I will miss our special conversations about travel to Mars, why Star Trek is better than Star Wars and how The Matrix is implausible; lol. Many message from grade school friends; Aimee Felder, Andra Ward, Previn Moore, Dawn Robrooks and Paula Bradshaw have come to me wish Alex the safest of travels full of love and light. Thank you, brother for enlightening us all on the subtleties of the universe.

I met Alex on our first day of Kindergarten. He sat down right next to me. We've been friends since then. I have only wonderful memories of Alex. He was a brilliant, caring, lovely man.

Alex made a gesture that touched my heart 30+ years ago and I've never forgotten it. When I adopted my son he sent me the most thoughtful card. One in which he wrote words of encouragement, congratulations, and hope for the future. Often as cousins we get to know each other as children but due to distance and time don't know each other as adults. The card re-connected me with Alex and gave me a glimpse into the heart of the man. Missing you cuz!!

Whenever I knew I'd be working with Alex, I looked forward to being there. I could tell how much he loved Beth, just from the tone of voice he used while talking to her on the phone. He is already greatly missed.

Alex was my friend. For nearly 8 years we worked together, and got to know each other. We talked about books and movies and music and whatever else was on our minds, we sang and laughed together, sometimes till we cried. I learned a lot from Alex, he was one of the smartest people I've ever met, he seemed to know about everything! Alex also listened, he would give me advice, he would watch my back, and he was like the big brother I never had. I'll never forget how his deep laugh would fill the warehouse... I'll miss you Mr.Alex, and I still don't know no Dooky Shoes.
