Alex, my great neighbor and friend during my formative years, a great influence on who I am today and how I have lived and believed over the past 75 years! Barbara, I was saddened when my brother shared of his passing. May you find peace knowing he is in eternal rest, our warrior against societies he did not believe in! My Sympathy, Ted Urban

Dear Barbara,
Al was such a good friend to my dad, Michael Slomich. We really enjoyed spending Passover with you and Al the past several years. He seemed like a such a kind, gentle man. I'm so sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace.

Alex was a family friend I had known since I was a child, about as far back as I can remember. I will always have fond memories of the lively Thanksgiving discussions around the dinner table and Alex's encyclopedic knowledge of history. He was an impressive person, and he will be missed. Rest in peace.

Very much enjoyed reading both the obituary and seeing the pictures. I am grateful to have met him and get to know him during my time as Redevelopment Pastor @ Melrose FBC. He was a faithful attender at our Wednesday Bible Study. I also enjoyed meeting Barbara at our annual Christmas party. However glad I am that he is in heaven and experiencing all of the joys that it affords, I know he has left a large gap here for many. Rev. Dr. Dee Swilling

Dear Barbara,
Words are inadequate to express how very much Alex was loved, admired and appreciated by all who knew him. All of us who had the privilege of working with him through Christians and Jews United for Israel are so thankful to have known such a committed Christian and fearless supporter of Israel and the Jewish people. His gentle, but firm, strength will be very much missed! We all pray for comfort and strength for you in the days ahead, knowing that you have the assurance of being with him in eternity.
With much love and appreciation on behalf of the board of Christians and Jews United for Israel,
Tricia Miller

And now gather close in spirit we who loved Al Kant, who shared for a time our lives.
He lived life full, with a smile, and led us well to respect and believe God's Word.
He told of the time God's truths were revealed to him and he became His soldier.
He told many of God's love and promise to Israel and how we must defend it.
He openly talked of his weaknesses, his love for his family, and God's amazing grace.
We will miss his sense of humor, his certainty in God's Word and his knowledge.
He left a legacy in those with whom he shared the truth.
He sowed many seeds of hope so needed in this world.
We thank him and love him and will see him again as we gather again together
In the presence of our Lord and Savior, praising Him together.
