Alexander Zelner

I knew Alex from the Orlando Chess Club. He was an awesome human and a very giving person.

We are all diminished by his death.

In the late 1990s or early 2000s, Alexander was my chess coach. Although I never got stronger than around 1900 USCF, the strategy and abstract thinking from chess are applicable in my work as a lawyer now. I have distinct memories of him standing at the counter in our family kitchen, because, "[he] sits too much," teaching me while drinking hot tea.
