Alexandrina (Goulart) Goulart

Alexandrina Goulart, 98, of Cumberland and Bristol passed on peacefully surrounded by her family on September 29th at Evergreen House Health Center. She was the wife of the late Jose Silveira Goulart. Born in Capelo, Faial, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Francisco Homem Goulart and Francisca Emilia (Goncalves) Goulart. She lived with her son Jose A Goulart and his wife Antonette. She was also mother to Maria Alexandrina da Silva of Salem NH, Mary "Natalie" Cannistra of Warwick, Rose Mary Tavares of Bristol, and the late Vasco Manuel Goulart. Alexandrina was the grandmother of Debra Hughes, Sandra Moitoso, Teresa Barcelos, Suzette Jackson, Denis DaSilva, Kristina Medeiros, Talia Cannistra, Shawn Tavares, Christopher Tavares, Erin DeMedeiros, Kenneth Goulart, Steven Goulart, Jeffrey Goulart; great grandmother of Joseph Oliveira, Taylor Moitoso, Johnna Moitoso, Julianna Hughes, Jared Hughes, Karah DaSilva, Lexy DaSilva, Cassidy Barcelos, Jordan Barcelos, Isabella Jackson, Lilianna Jackson, Bryan Bagge, Derek Bagge and great-great grandmother of Noah Moitoso. She was the last surviving sister of 12 children. She attended school in Portugal where she worked as a teacher until coming to this country. She then worked at Smith's Manufacturing for many years before retiring. Her funeral services will be held Monday October 3rd 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth's Church 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours are Sunday 3-6 PM.
