Death Notice

Alexavier Jay Pedrin

Our precious, innocent, little boy, Alexavier Jay Pedrin, also known as Alex, Aj, and Hammy, age 6, tragically died on February 11, 2023, at his father's girlfriends' home in Onalaska. His death was the result of blunt force trauma in addition to high levels of Xanax in his system. As a victim of child abuse, Alexavier faced many challenges, and demonstrated incredible courage, strength, and resiliency.
Alexavier was born on July 10, 2016, to Jenah Love of Holmen and Derek Pedrin of Onalaska. He attended kindergarten and the beginning of first grade at Hintgen Elementary School in La Crosse.
Alexavier was a fun, loving, active, and outgoing, young boy full of zest. He loved to dance, sing, swim, ride his bike, play basketball, and watch his "Buddy" race. He considered himself fast like "Lightening McQueen" and a good friend like "Woody". Alexavier was a "mommy's boy" and treasured there time together; he especially loved it when she read him books. He would say, "You got a friend in me mom." He looked up to his older "sissy", Aubrey and loved singing and dancing with her. Alexavier looked out for his little sister, Azaelia. He made sure she was included, safe and comfortable. He held her hand while walking; covered her up with a blanket; and helped her sit and stand. Alexavier and his maternal family were strongly bonded, and he loved spending time with them. He was always so happy to see them and would run up, smiling ear to ear, spread his arms wide open, and give the most endearing bear hug. Our hearts ache for his loss, as he was so dearly loved. His memories will be cherished, and he will be forever missed.
Alexavier is survived by his mother, Jenah Love; sister Aubrey Pedrin; half-sister Azaelia Love; step-brother Frenadus Jr Love.

The Child Welfare System is plagued by a lack of accountability and transparency and demonstrates a disturbing pattern of failures. His death was senseless and preventable. It is our mission to get JUSTICE FOR ALEXAVIER and to seek reform.
