It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Alexis Ma Guerrero, MD, 85, a loving father and lolo, devoted husband, and an extraordinary human being on November 29, 2023. Born on October 10, 1938, to the late Fernando Ma. E. Guerrero, Jr. and Feliciadad Livioko Guerrero in Ermita, Manila, Philippines, he was the eldest of seven children, a role he embraced with grace and responsibility.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 57 years, Dr. Helen Q. Guerrero, MD; his loving son Jim Guerrero (Tiffany Blunk), and devoted daughter Lissa Guerrero; his siblings Clarissa Buhay, Fernando Ma Guerrero III (Josephine Veloso), Daniel Ma Guerrero, and Teresa Guerrero Orlina (Dondi Orlina); his cherished grandchildren Gabriella Guerrero, and Arabella Guerrero; and his step grandson Andrew Brockman.
Dr. Alexis is survived by his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Fulvio Ma Guerrero (Carmen Perez De Tagle, widow), and Adrian Ma Guerrero; his son-in-law David S. Wright; and brother-in-law Honorato G. Buhay, Jr.
Dr. Alexis Guerrero's true devotion lay with his family. His beloved wife, Helen, was the anchor of his life, and together they forged a partnership built on love, understanding, and shared dreams. Their bond was a testament to the enduring power of love, weathering the storms of life with grace and resilience.
Dr. Alexis Guerrero, MD began his remarkable journey at the University of Santo Tomas, where he pursued his passion for neurology. His brilliance and dedication shone brightly, earning him the 7th spot in the prestigious medical board exam. A man of intellectual curiosity, he later moved to the United States in 1967, where he seamlessly transitioned to psychiatry, a field that captured his heart and allowed him to make a profound impact on the lives of many. He last worked as a psychiatrist at the Department of Disability Determination in
Louisville, KY.
Not only did he excel academically, but Dr. Alexis Guerrero also showcased his prowess by securing the 3rd position in the Clark Airforce base entrance exam. His commitment to serving others extended beyond the realms of medicine, reflecting a man whose purpose was to contribute to the well-being of those around him.
Family was the cornerstone of Dr. Alexis Guerrero's life. His unwavering support and boundless love created a foundation upon which his family could thrive. His role as a father extended beyond providing; he was a mentor, a friend, and a constant pillar of strength. His sense of humor was infectious, his laughter echoing through the years as a reminder of the joy he brought into every room.
A true Renaissance man, Dr. Alexis Guerrero embraced the beauty of life through his love for art, literature, and cinema. A world traveler, he sought to understand the human experience through the lens of different cultures. His insatiable appetite for knowledge led him to explore history, art, and literature, providing him with a profound understanding of his own journey and the world around him.
In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Alexis Guerrero was a constant joker, ensuring that laughter and joy accompanied every family gathering. His zest for life, coupled with his genuine kindness, left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, let us celebrate the legacy of Dr. Alexis Guerrero. May his adventurous spirit, unwavering love, and intellectual curiosity continue to inspire and guide us all. In the tapestry of life, his thread will forever be woven into the hearts of those who were touched by his presence.

A funeral Mass will be held at 9:00am on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Father Albert C. Anover and Father BIll Hammer will preside. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with a bereavement meal at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church afterwards. Visitation will be on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home, East, 12900 Shelbyville Rd.
