Alexis Daviss Waheeda Massey

ALBANY- Alexis Daviss Waheeda Massey, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and a vibrant presence in her family, passed away peacefully at home in Albany, New York, on March 22, 2026, at 11:27 p.m. She was 61 years old.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Alexis carried strength, culture, and resilience with her throughout her life. She was both a business owner and a homemaker, dedicating herself fully to raising her four sons Tyler, Krishna, Zine, and Cullen-who were her pride and purpose.

Alexis was known for her powerful sense of community, her deep love for music, and her ability to bring people together. Her presence filled a room. She wasn't just part of the family, she was the spice. Whether through laughter, real conversation, or simply being herself, she made people feel welcomed, understood, and connected. She valued togetherness, family, and loyalty above all, and she lived her life on her own terms with strength and authenticity.

She shared a close bond with her siblings India, Zane, Taru, and Singh, and held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews: Isfahan, Hanif, Mina, Juanita, Indria (predeceased), Rahmi, Singh, Laquan, Na'jaleik, Nashon, Navia, Joey, Xavier, Johonnah, Anrah, Maliya, Kimora, William, and Will Jr. along with many great-great grand-nieces and nephews. Her love extended across generations, including her cherished grandchildren: Cameron, Tyler Jr., Krishna Jr., Kristina, Kaden, and Anessa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlotte Francis-Joseph and Calvin Wayne Massey, as well as her niece, Indria.

Alexis will be remembered for the love she gave, the strength she carried, and the way she brought people together. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Parish 391 Delaware Avenue, Albany, New York. A Repass Celebration will be held 4 Sheridan Ave. Albany, NY 12207.

Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and unity, and her presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
