We lost our precious Alexis on February 13, 2023, as a result of a suicide. She had recently been diagnosed with a very rare type of neuropathy. She was beginning to lose feelings in her feet and hands. In her note, she said that she didn't want to live a life without being able to walk and travel.
She was born in Gainesville, Florida. At age 10, she and her family moved to Rochester, MN. She graduated from Century High School, and Hampshire College.
She loved languages, travel, animals, and biking. She worked in Patient Transportation at Mayo Clinic. She loved to hang out at Forager's Brewery and Old Abe's Restaurant.
A memorial/celebration of life was held on March 23 at Foragers. So many people shared their love for Alexis who was a remarkable young woman. People described her as.spunky, intelligent, opinionated, fun-loving, kind, generous, and fun.
She is survived by her parents George and Karmen Reid.
This photo was taken on one of her trips to San Juan, Puerto Rico, one of her favorite travel destinations.
