Alexis Rogel

Our dear Alexis, an angel on Earth, went to get her wings on March 15. Alexis was the devoted daughter of Alex and Gert Rogel. Born and raised in Red Bank. Alexis currently resided in Highlands, where she enjoyed fabulous views and long walks on Sandy Hook. Alexis was a hard worker and valued employee all her life. She held a variety of jobs, and retired after 35 years at TJ Maxx where she made many lifelong friends.
Alexis was a lover of life with a sense of adventure and wonder. She was an explorer with a never-ending bucket list. She traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad. Scotland, New Orleans and the American West were among her favorite places. Always "on the go," her social calendar was filled with cultural events, trips, concerts, plays, hikes and get-togethers. She loved the beach, animals, music, nature, Italian food and sharing good times and adventures with friends and family.
Because of her kind, caring, and generous nature she made friends wherever she went. She kept in touch with everyone. She was supportive, honest, and always there to lend a hand. She overcame many obstacles but always considered herself blessed. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Highlands.
Alexis will be kept in the hearts of her loving cousins Evelyn ("Sis") Hampton (Bob), Toni Marangello, Pat, Eddie and Kevin & Jane McMullen, Jerry Garback and Kristin Hampton (Luigi); sister Janice Barchat (Phil) and more than 80 close friends whose lives she touched and shared so many years of happy memories.
Blessed journey and peace dear Alexis – hope they have plenty of shrimp in Heaven. You are missed and loved by all. Spread your wings, beautiful one.
Visitation at John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank will take place on Thursday March 20th, 2025 from 10am to 1pm with a service to commence at the funeral home at 1pm. Burial will be private with a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to bestfriends.org or the SPCA.
