Alfred Brosig, Jr., age 86, of Millcreek, passed away at Nightingale nursing home on Sunday, February 18, 2024. Born in Erie on February 1, 1938, he was a son of the late Alfred, Sr., and Katharina (Friesz) Brosig.
Alfred was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a graduate of Gannon University. He worked hard his whole life, and retired from Hammermill Paper Co., where he was a research chemist. He also maintained the many rental properties he owned.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Brosig, and sister, Trudy Davison.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne (Rohan) Brosig; and son, Nate Brosig, wife, Ainslie; three grandchildren, Natalie Noel Brosig, Madelyn Grace Brosig, and Brody William Brosig; and a sister, Irene Harris, of Florida.
Friends are invited to gather at Our Lady of Peace Church, 2401 W. 38th Street, on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Committal prayers will immediately follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, section 16. Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 W. 38th Street, is assisting with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at www.bruggerfuneralhomes.com.
