Alfred H. Brown

Alfred Brown, of Menasha, age 94, died peacefully on January 30, 2009 at Oakridge Gardens. He was born on August 19, 1914 in the Town of Harrison, the son of the late Joseph and Adeline Wagner Brown. On August 29, 1940 he married Marie Resch at St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha. Alfred lived in the Sherwood area and was a farmer for many years. He was a volunteer with the Town of Harrison Fire Department. Alfred was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood. He was an avid sturgeon fisherman and hunter. Alfred is survived by his wife: Marie Brown, Menasha; his sons: Donald Karin Brown, Menasha; Eugene Virginia Brown, Newton Highlands, MA and Dennis Theresa Brown, Darboy; grandchildren: Jason Angela Brown, Neenah; Tanya Jason Combs, Menasha; Aaron Brown, New York and Sara Brown, Darboy; five great grandchildren: Zachary and Zoey Brown; Lilly, Zennan and Gardon Combs; sisters-in-law: Julia Braun, North Fond du Lac and Betty Brown, Sherwood and brother-in-law: John Resch, Appleton. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Alfred was preceded in death by his sister Theresa Ray Scharenbach, Sister Ann Marie and Sister Anthony; brothers: Peter Braun, John "Jack" Brown, infant Anthony Brown, Ambrose Braun and Jerome Brown; brothers-in-law: Fr. Julian C. Resch, Harry Resch, Herbert Resch and Raymond Resch and his sister-in-law: Mabel Michalkiewicz. The funeral liturgy for Alfred will be held at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, N341 Military Road, Sherwood. Father Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep and Father Ken Frozena will be officiating. The burial will take place in the parish cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 3:00 pm until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
