Alfred Dolohery Obituary
Alfred "Ted" Dolohery Jr., 90, of La Porte passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Brickyard Healthcare-Terrace Care Center.
Ted was born on Dec. 3, 1932, in La Porte, Indiana, to Alfred Byrd and Gertrude (Poor) Dolohery.
On June 1, 1957, in La Porte, he married Judith "Judy" Schroeder, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Julia (John) Sullivan of Wanatah; two grandsons, Michael Sullivan of Wanatah and Ryan Sullivan of West Lafayette; two sisters, Katherine Joan Kammler of Ohio and Mary Ruth Laymon of La Porte; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathleen "Kathy" Dolohery; and sisters, Margaret Hamilton, Patricia Thate and Sharon Conley.
Ted proudly served in the U.S. Army as a corporal. He was assigned to the Honor Guard, 10th Division. Ted's fondest military memory was of serving in the Honor Guard for Pres. Eisenhower.
He was an engineer for 50 years at NIPSCO. Ted was a member of the La Porte County Genealogical and Historical societies. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.
