Alfred Evans Obituary
Alfred Evans was a beloved father, brother and Papa. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1959 with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Soon after, in 1961, he married the love of his life Kay Nunamaker. Alfred worked at J.C. Stockton and Son for over 45 years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and was an active member at First Baptist of Augusta.
Family members include his children: Laura Evans and Stephen Evans (Karen); grandchildren: Joshua Evans (Stephanie), Abigail Adkins (Judson), and Jared Evans (Megan); sister: Dahlia Evans Bearden; brothers: T.W. Evans Jr (Vicki). Dwight Evans (Sharon); Kelvin Evans (Nancy), and Grady Evans (Robin); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Kay Evans; his mother Lauree Evans; and his sister: Cheryl Righton.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church Storey Chapel with Dr. Rodger Murchison officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 10:00 A.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Parkinson's Foundation or to First Baptist Augusta at 3500 Walton Way Ext; Augusta, GA 30909.
