Alfred Leroy Gregg, Jr.

Alfred Leroy Gregg, Jr. passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025 at the age of 87. Al was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a proud veteran. Al's life was defined by his faith in God, his unconditional love to his family, and dedication to his friends.

Al was born on January 22, 1938 to Edith (Doxie) and Alfred L. Gregg. He had six younger siblings and was known as "Bud" to his family. He was raised in Southern California.

As a child and young adult, Al was involved in Boy Scouts earning the Eagle Scout rank. He graduated from Pomona High School and went on to earn his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Al was a retired probation officer and marriage, family, and child counselor. He was a pillar in his community, actively serving in the Boy Scouts, VFW, and Kiwanis Clubs of Bakersfield and Tehachapi. He leaves behind a legacy of loving and serving others as Christ loved and served the church.

Al is survived by his daughter, Lynn Gregg; his sisters Edith and Mary; his brothers Paul and Pat; his step-daughters Becky Perry and Michelle Glaser; his granddaughter Heather Tam (Jason) and grandson Chad Glaser (Kristin); his great-grandsons Ryan, Owen, and Mason Glaser and JJ and Jet Tam. Al was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pat, his sons Eric and Chris Gregg, and his sisters Shirley and June.
