Alfredo Armendariz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Perches Funeral Home-East - El Paso on Dec. 20, 2025.
Alfredo Ben Armendariz, affectionately known to many as Fred, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on December 18, 1944, in Marfa, Texas, Fred's warmth and steadfast presence became a hallmark of his character throughout his life.
A longtime resident of El Paso (Ysleta), Texas, Fred was a man of deep Catholic faith and unwavering integrity. His commitment to his family and community was evident in every aspect of his life. Fred's loving wife, Nancy Armendariz, stood by his side in every chapter of their life together, sharing joys, dreams, and the day-to-day journey of a shared life well-lived. His children, Aaron and Brenda, were the pride of his life, and he instilled in them the values of hard work, compassion, and the importance of family.
Fred's professional life was marked by over three decades of distinguished service with the El Paso Sheriff's Department. His dedication to public service was not merely a job but a calling that he fulfilled with honor and distinction. He was a mentor to many and a friend to all within the department, leaving a legacy of excellence and community engagement that will be remembered for years to come.
In his retirement, Fred found joy in the simple pleasures of life: a good book, the company of his family, and the quiet moments of reflection. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his son Aaron, his daughter Brenda, and his sister Alicia Tapia. Grandchildren Kayleigh and Rebecca Armendariz, Julianne Bouma, and Jacklynn Gutierrez. Great grandchildren Emily Rodriguez, Austin Rodriguez, and Ryan Bouma. Fred was preceded in death by his brother, Jose Ricardo Armendariz, and his sister, Manuela Serna.
Fred's life was a testament to the virtues of kindness, loyalty, and faith. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched. His family takes comfort in knowing that he lived a full and meaningful life, guided by his unwavering belief in the goodness of people and the grace of God.
As we bid farewell to Alfredo Ben Armendariz, let us reflect on the cherished memories and the enduring impact of his life. His story is not one of sorrow but of celebration-a life well-lived and a man well-loved. Though he may have departed from this earth, his legacy will continue to inspire and influence all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
