Alfredo dela Torre, 79, passed away on July 12, 2024, after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce dela Torre, children Crescelle, Simonette and Mariquita, sons-in-law Brian and Francesco, and grandchildren Nova, Dahlia, Eliana, Ian, and Nika.
The oldest of eight siblings, Alfredo was born on October 15, 1944, in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, Philippines, to Miguel dela Torre and Crescencia Javier. He graduated from the University of Pangasinan with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Alfredo married Joyce Nazareno on January 3, 1970. They immigrated to the United States with their daughters in September 1975. He worked in the transportation industry for over 30 years and spent the last 20 years working for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority before retiring in 2007.
He loved spending time with his family, especially playing mahjong with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Celebration of Life Mass for Alfredo dela Torre will be on July 20,
2024 at 11:00AM at St Leo the Great in Fairfax, VA.
