Yes, Mr. Cornum was my favorite math teacher as well. He actually inspired me to think I might want to be a math teacher one day. But then I moved from Algebra to Trigonometry. Got my first "D" in his class. Just didn't get it. But he encouraged me. And I ended up memorizing sines and cosines but still didn't get it. But I did get 100% on my final exam; so I raised my term grade of "D" to my final semester grade "A". Thank you Mr. Cornum for being one of my favorite high school teachers!

To Peggy and Al's children and other family members, I am so very sorry for your loss. Though, I did not spend a lot of time with Al, he and my brother Steve Kratz were terrific friends. I enjoyed hearing lots about Al over many years and would visit with him on the phone on occasion. I have a wonderful memory of a delightful dinner in Salt Lake with Peggy, Al, Steve, and myself at a fabulous restaurant that Al and Peggy liked and wanted to treat Steve and me to. Al was a delight. Great conversationalist, smart, interesting, and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous and kind and a very good friend to Steve. And, Peggy, you also have been a good friend. Thank you. Peace and blessings to you all. Warmly, Anne Kratz

Yes! Mr. Cornum was the BEST math teacher ever. The school year was 1963-64 and the class was possibly Algebra II and Trigonometry. It was definitely a long time ago. My thoughts and prayers are with the family as they prepare to say goodby.
