Alice Marie Allen Obituary

Alice, age 92, December 25, 1932 (She loved sharing Jesus's birthday) passed away

on Friday, September 12th, 2025 in her home at Homestead of Bethany, Bethany, OK.

Born on the family farm near Medford, OK, to Elmer and Lizzie (Clark) McClaflin, she

was the youngest of 5 siblings.

A member of the Greatest Generation, Alice lived through the dust bowl depression in

northern Oklahoma and through World War II.

She graduated Medford HS in 1950 and attended Bethany Nazarene College.

She married Billy Ray Allen in 1951 and they had two children, Joanette and Raymond.

They worked in Medford until moving to Oklahoma City where Bill was a custom home

builder. They were very involved with First Church of the Nazarene. Bill died in 1965

and Alice took over his home building business and finished the homes he had started.

She and the children moved to Enid Oklahoma to work with her father, Elmer McClaflin.

Alice moved to Littleton, Colorado with the kids and then on to Helena, Montana until

moving back to OKC in 1974.

Alice worked as an estimator for a moving company and as an electrical estimator until

getting her Real Estate license and started working with Keller Williams. She eventually

got her broker license. She enjoyed finding homes for people. She was active at

Church of the Servant and started attending there when the church was still on NW Expressway. She was attending and able to move to the new church on N Macarthur. She was active and enjoyed attending the service held in the Chapel and was instrumental in starting a Sunday School class with the people "who sat with her on her pew!" Alice was an artist! Her paintings of mountains hang in many family homes. She also painted Christmas ornaments each year for family members for many years. Alice loved her family more than anything! When her parents were no longer able to hold family gatherings… Alice started having family gathers at her house. For many years she held "themed Easter events and one year had a Mariachi Band set up on the driveway to entertain the family! Food was set up in the garage and all tables inside were decorated. You didn't want to miss a gathering at Alice's house! Her homemade rolls and corn flake cookies were quickly snatched up!!! Alice loved her dogs! from Whizbo, Mikey and Mo - they lacked for nothing!!!!! She attended two Presidential Inaugural balls and traveled to Israel, Africa, New Zealand, Australia, and many cruises.

Alice was a volunteer at Integris Hospital in OKC where she crocheted at least 10 thousand newborn baby hats. She had a kind and generous heart and loved nothing more than helping someone in need. If someone was going to be overnight in the hospital with no one to stay with them…. Alice would stay! She was a great friend to have, and she reached out and

cared for her friends and family! She was dedicated to her family and her faith. She shared scripture with all her loved ones in times they needed encouragement. Alice lived a long life filled with lots of love. She had to leave her beloved home the last 10 months of her life due to her diagnosis of Alzheimer's. Homestead of Bethany loved and took excellent care of her and made her part of their family. Providence Hospice was able to share their loving care with Alice until the end of her life. She was preceded in death by husband, Bill Allen, her parents Elmer and Lizzie McClaflin, her brothers, William Eugene (Gene) McClaflin and Elmer Dale McClaflin and sisters, Bertha Downing and Lawanda Hostetler. She is survived by daughter, Joanette Clipson, son, Ray Allen and wife Jill. Grandchildren; Chris Clipson and wife Heather; Ryan Clipson and Dawn Taylor; Andrea Wammack, Sunny Stell and husband Cody, Brittany Allen, and Tyler Allen and wife Rachel. Great-Grandchildren: Riley Clipson, Justin Clipson, Sophia Wammack, Mari

Wammack, Isaiah Clipson, Skyler Donnell (Stark) and husband Austin, Michael Taylor, Myles Stell, Nora Stell, Lucy Allen, Joseph Allen, Jonathan Allen, Max Sizemore. Alice loved her nephew Steve Downing as a son and all his children and grandchildren were loved as her own. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

Alice was loved by many and is already missed!!!

We have many fond memories of spending Easters and Thanksgivings at Aunt Alice's house. They will always be a treasured part of our family's history. Alice was an amazing lady who touched so many lives, and we are fortunate to count ourselves among them. Rest in peace, Aunt Alice. We love you.
