Alice passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 at St. Benedict's Health Center in Dickinson.

She was born on December 18, 1931 to Joseph and Hattie (Marsh) Adamski.   She attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic School in New Hradec, which was conveniently across the street from the Adamski grocery business.  Instead of a local high school, she attended and graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel Academy, a boarding school for girls in Mankato, MN.  While home from school, she had fond memories of interacting with customers and family friends at the grocery store.

Alice married Robert J. Bezdicek at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Hradec on Nov. 12, 1951.  The wedding reception and dance was held at the Catholic Workman Hall and, as was typical then, it was an all day affair with lunch, dinner and dancing.

The newly married couple lived on the Bezdicek family farm about twelve miles South of Manning, ND.  During their years together on the farm, Robert and Alice raised three boys and two girls: Greg, Myron, Joyce, Deb and Jeff.  They raised cattle, milked cows, grew grains and had big gardens.

Alice was an excellent cook, made jams like chokecherry jelly, several varieties of pickles, canned tomatoes, juice and exceptional noodle soup from her own homemade noodles.  In addition, she enjoyed baking, so kolache, cookies and cakes were almost always available.   She also made creative birthday cakes and many wedding cakes.  Best of all, she was always willing to teach her culinary skills to her children and grandchildren.

She was an excellent seamstress and even produced a vestment for three different priests.  She also could crochet and embroider, so there was almost always something in the works.

Alice used to play the organ at New Hradec church masses and loved to listen to music, especially old time polka bands.  Alice and Robert were active supporters of the Catholic Workman Hall and she was also a member of the Czech Singers.

Alice is survived by her husband, Robert; sons Greg on the farm, Myron & his wife Rita of Tarpon Springs, FL; daughter Joyce Bezdicek & husband Milt Epstein of Champaign, IL; sister Charlotte & husband John Roehrl of Sparta, WI; sister-in-law LaVina Adamski of Englewood, CO; and grandchildren Aidan Epstein of Oakland, CA and Devin Epstein of Urbana, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Hattie Adamski; brother Otto Adamski; daughter Debbie and son Jeff.
