Alice Courtney Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Inspired Funeral Home - Salt Lake City on Mar. 30, 2026.
Alice Elaine Courtney, lovingly known as "Ally," age 73, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, at her home on Buckskin Lane in West Jordan, Utah, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Ally was born on April 17, 1952, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Fawn Elaine (Sawyer) Hooker and Jack Dee Hooker. She later married the love of her life, Ronald L. Courtney, on March 4, 1984, in West Valley City, Utah. Together they shared 42 beautiful years of love, partnership, and family.

Ally's greatest wish was to spend her final days in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by those she loved most. That wish was tenderly fulfilled, as she was embraced by her family, dear friends, and her incredible circle of neighbors.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her devoted neighbor support team-Lori, Natalie, and Deb-whose daily care, companionship, and kindness brought Ally immense comfort. From simple grooming and reading together to meaningful conversations and shared laughter, their presence was a true gift.

The family also wishes to express deep appreciation to the compassionate teams at Huntsman Cancer Institute and the University of Utah for their care and support throughout Ally's six-and-a-half-year journey.

Ally is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald Courtney; her children Mandy (Jamal Carter), Alex (Natasha Courtney), and Thomas; her cherished grandchildren Ahmed Donaldson, Mark, Matthew, and Kyrie; as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her adored fur companions, Stuart, Walter, and Gail.

Guests are warmly invited to bring their love, stories, and memories to share. Photos may be sent to [email protected] and will be displayed during the celebration.

Ally's life was a quiet symphony of love, strength, and connection-one that will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew her.
