Alice “Janice” Despain of Fishers, IN, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born in Lake City, AR, on August 17, 1935, to parents, C.E. and Ella Mae (Gambill) Fields.

She was an active member of Northside Baptist Church and deeply loved her Lord, her family, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. Having played basketball during high school for the Dixie Dragons, she became a lifelong basketball enthusiast and dedicated Pacers fan. She always stayed active between her world travels, championship bowling, working in her yard, and most importantly taking care of her family. She loved to cook big meals for family and friends, especially desserts.

Alice married Jimmy Despain on June 8, 1957, they spent 37 happy years together, he preceded her in passing in 1995. She is survived by children, Bryan “Keith” (Tonya) Despain, Vicki (Jim) Moran; grandchildren, Jamie (Erica) Despain, Brendon (Josh) Despain, Michael (Meagan) Moran, Scott (Holly) Moran; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Sadie, Jillian, Lincoln, Clare, Teddy, Reagan, Kennedy, and Jimmy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Junior, Charlene, Boyce, Eugene and Max.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Janice's honor to Northside Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN.

Visitation will be held from 11am until 1pm, Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan Carmel (325 E. Carmel Dr. Carmel, IN). A Celebration of Life will be held directly following at 1pm. Burial will follow service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
