Alice Corine Hicks

Alice Corine (Cuff) Hicks, age 89, of Camden, TN passed away peacefully Saturday, December 6, 2025, at her residence. Mrs. Hicks was born in Camden on December 19, 1935, to the late Allen Thurman Cuff and Ina Corine (Hollingsworth) Cuff.
She married Lelon Loy Hicks – son of the late Marvin and Iva Lee Kee Hicks on June 15, 1952, in Corinth, MS. Both Alice and Lelon completed school and were in the graduating class of 1954 from Camden Central High School. Lelon went on to become a building contractor, while Alice was a medical receptionist at Benton Clinic. She then attended Beauty School of Cosmetology and opened her own business. She was preceded in death by her husband (1935-1966) and raised her two girls on her own.
Mrs. Hicks was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joe Fred Cuff and Ray Cuff (infant); and a sister, Doris Nell Cuff.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church – Camden, TN. She had many hobbies and interests. She loved playing canasta with the M&M Canasta Club and cards of all kinds. She fished, enjoyed yard work and gardening, painting, and watching her birds. She was a lover of all animals, especially dogs. Mrs. Hicks passed along great cooking skills and loved making mud pies with the grandchildren. The love, kindness, and perseverance she displayed encouraged many that you can do anything you set your mind to.

Granddaughters: Tori McCurdy (Todd), Oakland, TN and Kaitlin Cornwell, Waverly, TN
Great Granddaughter: Abigail Cornwell
Sisters: Alma Lowry and Virginia (Amy) Moon, Camden
Niece: Tamara Rogers (her smoking buddy)

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at Oakdale Funeral Home in Camden, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Oakdale Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Camden City Cemetery with Bro. Steve Whitworth officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Alice Corine Hicks.
