Alice E. Meyer

Alice E. Meyer (Rittersdorf), age 102, of Lowell, passed away on November 29, 2025. She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Leonard W. Rittersdorf; her second husband, Adolf F. Meyer; sons, Jeffrey and Mark Rittersdorf; and grandchildren, Joshua, Tami, Markie, and Chad.

Alice is survived by her children, Sharon (Vic) Joseph, Colleen Rittersdorf (Ben Konwinski), Tim Rittersdorf, and Patrick (Sharon) Rittersdorf; grandchildren, Toni (Shawn), Christy (Colby), Michele (Andy), and Blake; step-grandchildren; Kelli, Kari, and Katy; 18 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and the many caregivers who supported her throughout the years.

Alice was known for her captivating smile and the warmth she carried throughout her life-something she shared generously with family, friends, and her community. Music was one of her greatest joys. She was an accomplished violinist and also played the piano and accordion, filling countless moments with song.

Beyond her musical gifts, Alice made local history as the first female mail carrier for Lowell, Michigan-a role she served with dedication, determination, and pride. Her trailblazing spirit opened doors for others and remains a testament to her courage and independence. Alice had a passion for her animals and her beloved German Shepards, Solomon and Lord.

Alice's life was rich with love, resilience, and devotion. She will be remembered not only for her talents and achievements, but for the kindness and light she brought into the world. Her presence warmed every room, and her absence leaves an immeasurable void. May her memory live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Roth-Gerst Funeral Home, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell, Michigan 49331, with visitation one hour prior.
