Janie had the room across the hall from me in our first year. She was fun and a friend. When she asked me if I'd wake her in the morning to make sure she wasn't late for class I agreed. I think she set her alarm clock, but I'm not sure. Anyway, after I woke her up, I soon found she'd fall back asleep. At first I'd go in a second or third time to make sure she was up, but after a bit that "got old". In my farm family one didn't even get a second wake up reminder, so eventually I got tired of doing that. I told her she'd have one chance from me only. Somehow she managed to change, and we remained friends. I was happy to see her again at our 50th reunion. We have lost a fine, kind, and brave person.

May you rest in peace. You were a good nurse and classmate at the Brigham.

Janie was in my nursing school class at the Brigham. Who can forget her wild sense of humor and trumpet playing taps in the residence! Miss Crane won't!!! Rest in peace Janie.
