Alice Marie "AJ" Robinson, age 65, passed away on November 21, 2025, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Born on November 18, 1960, also in Grand Rapids, Alice spent her life rooted in the community she loved and served with unwavering dedication.
A proud graduate of Grant Public Schools, Alice's passion for learning and helping others led her to pursue higher education at Hope College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982. Her commitment to service and excellence was recognized when she received the prestigious Diamond Award from Hope Network in 2005. Never one to stop growing or giving, Alice later completed her Master of Social Work degree from Walden University in 2020—an achievement that reflected both her intellectual curiosity and deep compassion for others.
Alice devoted over 29 years of her professional life to Hope Network, where she made a lasting impact on countless lives. She also contributed her talents to Cherry Health Southside, Wilson & Wynn Interventions, PLC, and most recently at Network 180 Access Center, where she was completing her career at the time of her passing. Throughout her life's work, Alice remained steadfast in her mission: to support those in the Mental Health Community with empathy, care, and tireless devotion.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Alice was a quiet, kind-hearted soul whose gentle presence left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her. She had a lifelong love of learning—curious about nearly everything—and found joy in working with her hands during childhood. An avid reader and lover of classical music, Alice also enjoyed knitting and sewing. In earlier years, she played guitar and nurtured a deep affection for animals.
To those closest to her, especially her sister Nancy Green, Alice was more than a caregiver or counselor—she was a beloved big sister with a playful spirit who delighted in quoting "The Big Sister Book of Rules" as a way to tease and bond. As they grew older together, their relationship deepened into one filled with shared adventures and cherished memories.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Robinson and Arvilla Maack Robinson. She is remembered fondly by many cousins and extended family members who were touched by her warmth and generosity.
A service celebrating Alice's life is being held in Caledonia Michigan.
