Alice Rodgers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ruebel Funeral Home on Feb. 4, 2026.
Biography:
Alice Brown Rodgers, 85, of Little Rock passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025. She died with her two sons at her side in her home of 55 years after battling Alzheimer's disease for several years.
Alice was born on September 28, 1940, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Virginia Harris Brown and Dr. William Brown. Her only sibling, William (Billy), died from Polio in 1951 at the age of 15, four years before widespread availability of the polio vaccine. After graduating from Paola High School, she studied Nursing at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, where she met Clyde Dudley Rodgers, Jr., a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Alice and Dudley were married on September 8, 1962, in Paola, Kansas.
Alice and Dudley had two sons, William Jeffrey Rodgers born in 1963 and Steven Edward Rodgers born in 1966. After raising her two boys in Little Rock, Alice returned to school at UALR to earn a Master's Degree in Social Work. She subsequently worked as a social worker in rehab hospitals and later as a certified personal exercise trainer for seniors.
Music was a driving force throughout Alice's life. She enjoyed singing, playing piano, mountain dulcimer, and composing music. She enjoyed singing in the choir at Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, and taking annual trips to Baltimore, Maryland, to participate in Piano at Peabody. She developed a love for sports later in life, passionately following the Boston Red Sox, Kansas Jayhawks, and Roger Federer.
Alice was a kind, loving person who cherished her family and friends, and was happy to offer anyone a smile. She is survived by her sons Jeff and Steven.
A visitation will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 4-6 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to AETN of Arkansas - Public Television, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and Althzeimer's Arkansas - Chapter of the National Alzheimer's Association.
