Alice Jean Collins Saviez, a beloved wife, mother, and community volunteer, passed away in Fresno, California, on November 6, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in San Diego, California, Alice was raised in the California Bay Area alongside her sister, Gloria Collins Asher, who predeceased her.

Alice is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Frank L. Saviez, and their three children: Mark (Danielle) Saviez, Michael (Robyn) Saviez, and Nicole (Stephen) Pearce. She is also survived by her nephews Robert Asher II and Scot (Sheila) Asher and her nieces, Maggie (Marcus) Gavino and Katie Asher, all of whom were a cherished part of her life.

Alice received her undergraduate degree in teaching from the California State University, San Fernando, and went on to make a significant impact in the educational community. She taught both Special Education and Migrant Education, serving students in Los Angeles, Marin, and Fresno County school districts. Her dedication to education was evident in the love she had for her students and her commitment to their success.

In 1965, Alice met and fell in love with Frank, and the two were married. Together, they raised a family and shared countless adventures over the course of their 60 years together. Alice's love for Frank was deep and unwavering, and their partnership was the foundation of a rich and full life.

Alice was passionate about giving back to her community. A tireless volunteer, she dedicated her time to numerous organizations that she felt strongly about, including the California Workforce Investment Board, California Women for Agriculture, the Farm Bureau, the Agricultural/Environmental Learning Center, Infant of Prague Adoption Services, the Central Valley Women's Conference, the Marjorie Mason Center, and the Miss California Pageant. She believed that community involvement was one of the most important duties an individual could have, and her work touched the lives of many.

A woman of grace, strength, and wit, Alice will be remembered for her love of a challenging game of bridge, her spirited dinner conversations, and her appreciation for a well-made cocktail, a fine glass of wine, or a good book. She had a great love for travel, but equally treasured the time spent with family and friends, particularly when gathered at home, enjoying the view of the San Joaquin River.

Alice's legacy will live on in the many lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at Farewell located at 660 W. Locust Ave, Fresno CA 93650 on December 11, 2025 at 6:00pm

A celebration of Alice's life will be held at The Shrine of St. Therese
855 E. Floradora Ave., Fresno CA 93728 on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 10:00am.
