Alice Joyce Sinyard

Alice Joyce Lowe Sinyard, 89, passed away on June 7, 2025, in Covington, Ga.
It is with much sadness, we bid farewell to our beloved Mom and GanGan. She was a radiant angel who ascended to the heavens in a burst of light, leaving an indelible mark on our lives. She was, and forever will be, the embodiment of strength and resilience, inspiring countless hearts with her unwavering courage. She was a shining beacon of love, hope, and guidance, illuminating the paths of all who were fortunate enough to know her remarkable spirit.
Joyce was born in Lithonia, GA on April 28, 1936, and was the last surviving child of 12 siblings from Horace and Rubye Lowe.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 11 siblings, along with her devoted husband of 54 years; Nelson Leon Sinyard and her daughter-in-law; Melissa Owens Sinyard.
Joyce leaves her loving memory to surviving family, Terry & Kathy Sinyard, Tony & Ellen Sinyard, Kevin & Starla Sinyard, Matt & Heather Sinyard; 32 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends who adored her.
We all have fond memories of Joyce always capturing the moment with camera in-hand. In her youth, she was a stellar student, talented in art and active in sports. She always had a love of music, fast cars, and pretty much anything girls typically did not do! After a successful career in real estate, Joyce loved spending time in her Suwannee, Florida home. She absolutely loved all things in nature's great outdoors and shared activities of gardening, hunting and fishing with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also spent many hours involved with collecting antique depression glass, sewing, and cooking. Our Mom and GanGan was truly one of a kind!
Joyce was an active member of Suwannee Baptist Church in her quaint fishing community near the ocean. She loved the Lord and singing along to gospel music with her fellow members.
Family and friends are invited to Scot Ward funeral home at 699 America Legion Rd. NE Conyers, GA 30012 for visitations and funeral service. Visitation will be on Wednesday June 11th from 5pm-8pm. The funeral will be held on Thursday June 12th at 11 am with visitation at 10am. There will be a graveside service held directly after at Turner Hill Baptist Church 3402 Turner Hill Road, Lithonia, Georgia 30038.
