Alice Y’vonne Tharpe, age 74, of Dickson, TN passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Ascension St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. Ms. Alice, affectionately known as; Momma, Granny, “Alice THE GREAT”, and Sugar Bear, was born on March 19, 1949, in Camden, TN to the late Noble Sr. and Gertrude (Williams) Tharpe. Ms. Tharpe professed her love in Christ at an early age. During the early years She was a member of Williams Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir. From the church choir, Ms. Tharpe went on to becoming a member of the gospel group “THE STARLETTES”. Later on, She moved her membership to Worley Furnace Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. Ms. Alice was active in various activities in the church. While we as a community enjoyed her singing and wonderful fellowship, we especially enjoyed her gift in culinary. “Alice the Great”. “Sugar Bear” was an amazing CHEF!!

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 11:00-1:00 PM at Oakdale Funeral Home in Camden, TN.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 1 PM at Oakdale Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Grove Cemetery.
