Mrs. Alice Faye Mauldin Windham, age 81, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, at her home in southern Laurens County, after a long battle with dementia. A native of Macon, Georgia, Alice was born September 16, 1942, to the late John and Clara Mauldin. She was a 1960 graduate of Margaret McEvoy High School in Macon. Alice married Glenn M. Windham of Macon, Georgia, in July 1960, and they later moved to the Dublin, Laurens County area. Alice and Glenn were married for 56 years at the time of Glenn’s passing. Alice was a member of Emerald City Christian Center (EC3) in Dublin, Georgia.
Alice and Glenn were entrepreneurs and owned various businesses in Dublin, including Windham Auto Parts, Soap and Suds Laundromat, and A & G Mini Storage. Alice also owned The Flower Cart Florist with her daughter, Melaina F. Windham. Later in life, Alice and Glenn were both instrumental in aiding their son, Jarrod G. Windham, with starting his men’s addiction recovery ministry - El Shaddai’s Refuge, Inc. Alice volunteered at El Shaddai’s Refuge until her health declined. Even though she was no longer able to work as she wanted, those who entered the ministry honored her as the grandmother of the house. Alice was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. And, even when dementia tried to steal so much from her, it was never able to take away her joy of praising Jesus.Low Country Cremation and Burial has the honor to serve the Windham family.
