HARTSVILLE: Alice R. Woodworth, 86, of Purdy Creek Rd. passed away peacefully Saturday morning September 20, 2025 at her home with the care and love of her family by her side.

Alice was born September 21, 1938 in Hornell to the late Robert and Helen (Saurbier) Congdon. On October 26, 1956 in Canisteo, she married Norman E. Woodworth, who predeceased her in March of 2020.

Alice was a life-long resident of the Canisteo Valley where she worked as a seamstress for the Marion Rohr Garment, Co. in Hornell and devotedly raised her family in Hartsville. She loved to sew and bake for her family as well as play "Mahjong" on the computer. One of her greatest pleasures was taking country rides with her late husband Norm with an occasional Dr. Pepper to quench their thirst. What was very dear to her heart was time spent with family and friends just sitting and visiting, especially with her grandchildren.

Alice is survived by two sons, Norman (Leslie) Woodworth of Lake Orien, MI, Scott (Kathy) Woodworth of Hartsville, a daughter Cathy (Mark) Mis of Greer, SC. 6 grandchildren, Regan Ivey, Amy (Austin) Gerow, Jennifer Woodworth, Ann Marie Postilli, Emily (Zack) Haley and Samantha (Tom) Smith. Great Grandchildren, Jordan, Rebecca, Ethan, Alice, Daniel, Maggie Tailynn and Scarlett. One sister Patricia (Sam) Gregory of TX.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by brothers, Robert and Karl Congdon and a sister Donna McCarthy.

There will be no public services. A private graveside service will be at the convenience of the family in Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Rd. Hornell, NY 14843.

Arrangements are in care of the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo.
