Alicia Bronson, born on March 24, 1959, peacefully transitioned, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and faithful woman of God.

She was born to the late Willie J. Oatts and Hurbie Maxine Oatts. Alicia was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Burnis P. Beecher; and her brothers, Kelvin Oatts and Charles Turman.

Alicia was united in marriage to the love of her life, Percy Bronson Sr., and together they shared 47 beautiful years of love, commitment, and partnership. Their bond was a shining example of dedication and enduring love.

She dedicated over two decades of faithful service to the community through her employment with Indianapolis Public Schools Transportation, where she worked from 2000 until her retirement in 2022. Alicia took great pride in her work and in the care and compassion she showed to the children she served.

Alicia had a deep love for church and music, which filled her spirit and guided her life. She found peace and happiness in gardening, swimming, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted husband, Percy Bronson Sr.; her children, Percy Bronson Jr., Quentin Bronson, Cierra Bronson (Jerry), and Carl “Binky” Croom; and her treasured grandchildren, Darion, Ja’Quan, Brianna, Jeremiah, Layanna, Quentin “Pooh,” Michael, Chance, and My’Journee, who brought her immense joy and pride.

She also leaves behind siblings whom she loved dearly: Michael Turman (Shirley), Martin Turman, Kenneth Oatts, Linda Oatts, Floyd Johnson, Kimberly Barlow, Latanya, and Mario Brown, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and the godchildren from 40th Street. She especially treasured her close bond with her sister-in-law, Perlean Bronson, and her dear friend, Mary A. Wallace.

Alicia Bronson will be remembered for her kind heart, joyful spirit, and the love she poured into everyone she encountered. Though she is no longer with us in body, her love, laughter, and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
