Alisa Lynn Statum was born on May 5, 1967, at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California, to Alex and Claudette Statum. Her mother preceded her in death when Alisa was just thirteen years old. Alisa was the third born of four children. Alisa grew up in Oakland, California, where she attended elementary and junior high school and graduated from Castlemont High School, where she was Senior Class Vice President. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Studies from the University of California, Davis. In 1993, Alisa married the love of her life, Quintin Carson, whom she'd met at the age of thirteen while enjoying one of her favorite teenage pastimes, roller skating.
After living in Vallejo, California, for some years, they relocated to San Diego, California, which became their permanent home. Their union produced one child, Naomi Carson, who preceded them in death. Together they nurtured six children, planting seeds of love, high self-esteem, integrity, and exhibiting Godly principles in everything she did for them. She encouraged all of their academic, creative, and spiritual endeavors and knew how to bring out the best in each one. In addition to raising her family, Alisa (affectionately known as Mac Lee) was employed at Wells Fargo Bank for thirty-two years, where she worked as a certified Project Management Professional before retiring in 2022. She had a passion for traveling, taking many cruises and trips around the globe, visiting places like the Panama Canal, Punta Cana, and Rome, just to name a few.
She was also an avid Bid Whist player, enjoying games with her childhood friends and playing dominoes with her family. She loved any kind of party, whether it was for her or someone else, celebrating the Super Bowl, or a milestone birthday. She joyfully marked her milestone birthdays bi-coastally with her cousin, whose birthday was just two days apart from hers. "Mac Lee" always brought the love and laughs with her unique quips and unapologetic "reads" that only she could come up with.
Alisa accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a very young age and was baptized while living in Oakland. She joined Bayview Baptist Church of San Diego, where she served faithfully as an usher, faith counselor, religious educator, and also served on the Deacon Wives Board. She was a devout Christian and loved the Lord. Alisa's real gift from God was pouring hope and life into people. She always had a word to give someone from the Lord that would help them get through whatever situation they were facing. Her warm smile and willingness to just sit with you if that is what you needed was a testament to the Christian woman God made her to be.
Cherishing her precious memory are her father, Alex Statum Jr.; husband, Quintin Carson; daughters, Tiffany Falgout (Nicole), Gwendolyn Tarpeh (Barku), Valecia Fomby (Lonnie), and Raquell Carson; sons, Damone Robbins (Christina) and Darnell Carson; brother, Otis Statum; sisters, Yolanda Statum and Victoria Jackson (Milton); nieces, Sharonna Dunlap (David) and Morgan Jackson; nephews, Jashad Bedford, Kavonni White, Otis Statum Jr., and Milton Jackson III; fourteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five god-children, and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Alisa's life touched everyone she knew. Her level of love, loyalty, and strength will never be forgotten. Her gift of friendship shall remain everlasting and her love eternal. --- With humble hearts, we give thanks for the time we were blessed to share with Alisa. Her legacy of love and faith will forever be cherished.

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Alisa through our employment.
I was lucky enough to partner with her for many years on a huge annual conference she was responsible for. She was the ultimate task manager, project manager extraordinaire. I learned so much from her over the years not only things work related, but also how kind, compassionate, and empathetic she always was to everyone and every situation. We had a special song, Ebony and Ivory, and we would always address each other with our respective names. My Ebony, may you rest in paradise. You will be missed always!
