Alison Bruno Obituary
Alison graduated from Lakeland High School in New York and went on to earn her B.S. in Nursing at the University of Scranton. She started her career at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and transitioned into the role of a travel nurse, which brought her to New York City and California. On May 20, 2009 she was united in marriage to Robert M. Bruno, Jr. in New Orleans. The couple relocated to Wisconsin, where she earned her Clinical Nurse Leader degree from the Columbia College of Nursing.
Alison absolutely loved her nursing and teaching careers, both of which allowed her to help others. She was a loving and amazing mother, a loyal friend and a respected colleague. Alison was well-known for her flower-adorned glasses, huge smile and infectious laugh. Every year, she could be counted on to decorate her multiple Christmas trees, while "gently reminding" others that they needed to do the same.
Alison is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Sandra Goldstein. She is survived by her husband Robert; children Arianna Rain, Rowan Mace and Lorelei Apple; siblings Amy (Ray) Wacek and Marc (Elyssa) Goldstein; father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Mary Ellen Bruno; brothers- and sisters-in-law Rebecca Bruno, Michael (Tristin) Bruno and Mark (Sahar) Bruno; aunt and uncle Catherine and Joseph Punturiero; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Alison was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Lumen Christi Catholic Church (2750 W. Mequon Rd, Mequon, WI). The family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00 pm until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a college fund for Alison's children through mealtrain.com.
