Allan Davidson Obituary

Allan Leister Davidson, 90, of Westminster, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Carroll Lutheran Village. Born in the family home on June 29, 1935 in Reese, Maryland, he was the son of the late Clarkson W. and Evelyn B. (Leister) Davidson. He was the husband of almost 54 years to the late Shirley Barnhart Davidson, who predeceased him on October 11, 2011. Allan was a veteran of the United States Army and a graduate of Westminster High School, Class of 1954. From a young age, he grew up on the family farm, Daffodil Farm, in Reese, where he learned the true meaning of hard work through harvesting crops and raising animals. Farming was something Allan truly loved, and he later shared this passion with his daughters and continued it well into his retirement. He began his working career as a tool and die machinist at AAI. Later, he taught Metal and Technology Shop at South Carroll High School before retiring and returning to his roots and lifelong passion for farming. Allan was a lifelong member of Sandymount United Methodist Church, where he sang in the church choir and participated in the One Accord men's group. He was talented at metalwork and was always eager to learn, and enjoyed reading history and technical books. He was extremely proud of the full restoration of his 1956 Ford F-100, a project to which he devoted countless hours. Surviving him are daughters Wendy Cesca and her husband Rick, and Sara Davidson; grandchildren Nikki Jarvis and Joseph Cesca; great-grandchildren Denton and Bo Jarvis; siblings Anne Kirby, Dorothy Priddy, Marie Wilson, John Davidson, Marti Welch, Jerry Davidson; several nieces and nephews. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 31st at 11 am at Sandymount United Methodist Church, 2101 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg MD 21048, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Sandymount United Methodist Church. Allen was a wonderful inspiration to many of the boys who lived in the Lawndale Road area especially my sons Chuck and Richard. He was a wonderful neighbor. Always took time to stop and chat when he harvested the fields next door to our property. Missed him greatly when he sold the farm. Condolences to the family.

I worked with Allan and Shirley. Great machinist and farmer. Good person to ask questions on many subjects. He is now again with his loving wife.

I was one of the fortunate kids to work on Mr. Davidsons farm in the mid `80´s, along with my brother. The one thing Mr. Davidson taught me was responsibility and work ethic. He made me who I am today. He will be sorely missed.
