Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel & Cremation ServicesIt is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Allan Grant “Butch” Nolan of Weatherford, Texas, who left this world on October 26, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born on November 13, 1942, in Dallas, Texas, Butch was the beloved son of William "Bill" and Sylvia (Johnson) Nolan. He graduated from Polytechnic High School, Fort Worth, Texas in 1961.
A hardworking and devoted man, Butch spent his career as a truck driver with Merchants Fast Motor Lines, Fort Worth, Texas for 30+ years and then as an independent trucker in the freight industry, including many years serving the oil and gas sector. His dedication, quiet strength, and steady presence earned the respect of those who worked alongside him.
He was preceded to heaven by his father, William; mother, Sylvia; and brothers, William "Bill Jr." and Jerry; and brother-in-law, Gary McGee.
He is survived by his children, Donna Schulze and her husband, Dennis Schulze of Fort Worth, Terry Nolan of San Antonio, and Pamela Oakley and her husband, Chad Oakley of Granbury; as well as his sisters, Linda McGee and Kay Futch and her husband, Doug Futch, all of Burleson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Cheyanne James of Mount Vernon, Leslie Schulze of Fort Worth, Slade Nolan of Friendswood, Bryson Oakley of Weatherford, and Gauge Oakley of Granbury; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
While we lost our most beloved dad and uncle, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. There was so much more to him than just dad, though to us that was his greatest accomplishment – he was also a friend, a coworker and colleague. Butch will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to share in his journey.
A graveside inurnment service will take place on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery, in Colleyville, Texas.
