Allan G. "Al" Karg

A Great Husband, Father, Brother, Friend, Uncle, and Leader
Today we honor the life of Al Karg, a man who led with heart, lived with purpose, and left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him.
Al's life was built on hard work, honesty, and kindness. From his early days working on cars to running gas stations, Al treated everyone with respect and a smile. He carried that same spirit into his greatest partnership, his marriage to Linda, the love of his life. Together they built a beautiful life and a successful business, serving their community with pride and integrity.
The Farm in Dakota, Minnesota was Al's happy place, where he became "Uncle Al" to everyone, hosting pig roasts, parties, and simple mornings filled with laughter. He loved fishing in the Mississippi, hunting in the woods, mowing the lawn (maybe a little too much), and sharing ice cream and breakfasts with his grandkids, Drew and Ava, who meant the world to him.
Al was quietly generous. When he came across someone in need, he would always be the first to offer a hot meal, warm clothes, and whatever was in his pocket to help them.
Al was a proud father to Kelly and Bill, Jason and Jen, and a loving brother to Paul. He taught his family the value of hard work, loyalty, and always showing up for the people you love.
His presence was a gift. His example, a legacy.
We will carry him with us, in the sound of a lawn mower, the quiet of the river, and the laughter of friends gathered.

A Celebration of Al's Life will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Dakota Community Center in Dakota, MN. There will also be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at DuPage Cremations, 951 West Washington St., West Chicago, IL 60185.
