Allan Mader Obituary

Visit the Wichmann Funeral Home - Tri-County Chapel website to view the full obituary.

Allan Adrian Mader, age 75, passed away at home on July 13, 2025, surrounded by his family and their love. He was born May 10, 1950, to Adrian and Lucille (Halbach) Mader. He grew up in Sherwood. Following high school, he entered the U.S. Army and served for just under two years. Upon returning home to Sherwood he began work in the heating and cooling industry. It was at this early time in his professional career that he met Paula while out with friends at a local watering hole. Paula was smitten immediately, and Al took the time they shared as friends to learn more about her and grow to love her. They were married on March 30, 1973, and soon after began their family while living in Appleton. Al worked for Christensen Heating and Air Conditioning for just over 38 years until his retirement in 2015.

Al loved the Brewers and had a variety of shirts such that he could wear a different shirt each day of the month. He enjoyed watching games or listening on the radio. He enjoyed the occasional golf outing with son Chad. His biggest joy in life was helping people-and enjoyed being able to help them out whenever he could. He was generous with his time and talents. Al was a long time member of the Sherwood Lion's Club and enjoyed the work they did through the years.

Al is survived by his wife Paula; children: Chad (Cheri), Jess (John); grandchildren: Johnathan and Sophia; and house pup Angel. In addition, he is survived by his siblings: Lois (Jerry), Marlene, Steve (Mary), Gary (Diane), Rick (Linda), Dale, Dennis (Gina), Gerard (Dawn) and Janice (Craig) and brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard (Linda), Chuck (Linda), Ed (Lisa), Jerry (Karen) and Laurie as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Adrian and Ceil; his daughter Tina, his brother Tommy, his parents in law: Paul, Millie, Bob, and George; and brothers and sisters-in-law Mark, John, Barbara and Karen.

A memorial Mass will take place on Monday July 28, 2025, at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Parish, 222 E Fremont Street, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the church from 9:00am until the time of mass. Al will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Sherwood Lions Club in Al’s name.
