Allan Woodward Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 10, 2026.
Allan D. Woodward, 66, of Linton, passed away at his home on Wednesday evening, January 7, 2026. Born on March 5, 1959, in Linton, he was the son of Jack and Donna (Burris) Woodward.
Allan grew up in the close-knit community of Dugger, where he made lifelong friendships and graduated from Dugger Union High School in 1977. He went on to earn his electrician's degree from Ivy Tech College.
Throughout his life, Allan worked hard and took pride in every job he held, whether at General Electric, the Indian Power Plant, the railroad, Breed Power Plant in Fairbanks, or Buccees Golf in Terre Haute. He dedicated over 30 years to Marathon Petroleum Company in Robinson, Illinois before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of dependability, skill, and camaraderie.
Allan was also a proud member of Linton Elks #866 and Dugger F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge #721. Whether he was out on the golf course, woodworking, watching IU sports, or planning the next trip, Allan found happiness in being surrounded by the people he loved most.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Anita S. (Erdly) Woodward; his father, Jack A. Woodward; his son, Clint (Brittanny) Woodward of Brownsburg; his daughter, Allison (Thaniel) Heath of Linton; two adored grandsons, Jacob and Liam Woodward; a grandchild expected this April, who he was so looking forward to meeting; his brothers, Kevin (Denise) Woodward and Darren (Natalee) Woodward; along with many extended family.
Allan was preceded in death by his mother.
A Funeral Service celebrating Allan's life will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, of Walton Funeral Service, at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 16, 2026, with Rev. David Tyra officiating. Burial will follow at Dugger Cemetery.
