Allen "Al" P. Kammers, a proud Marine and Vietnam Veteran, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, at the Aspen Ridge Retirement Village. Born on April 11, 1949, in Belding, Michigan, Al lived a life characterized by dedication, hard work, and an unwavering sense of patriotism.
Al's professional career spanned 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry, where he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and physicians alike. Al won numerous awards as a sales representative and manager. His accomplishments earned him the honor of being selected into the Pfizer Hall of Fame.
Beyond his impressive career, Al was a devoted family man, proud of his two sons, Josh and Adam, who were among his greatest achievements. He took immense joy in sharing both life's big moments and everyday experiences with them, imparting values of integrity, hard work, and devotion. Al was also an avid sports enthusiast, with a particular love for golfing and supporting his beloved Detroit Tigers. His enthusiasm extended to being a fervent Michigan sports fan. His character was defined not only by his accomplishments but also by his engaging personality.
Al's laughter, spirit, and love for family and friends will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is survived by his two sons, Josh (Mieke) Kammers of Raleigh, NC and Adam (Oanh) Kammers of University Place, WA; five grandchildren, Wyatt, Elliott, Lochlan, Ramona and Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Crystal (Peterman) Kammers; stepfather, Edwin Sovereign; and his sister, Wanda Lippert.
A memorial service will take place 11:00 AM Friday, August 29, 2025, at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service, where the family will visit with friends beginning at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project: https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org or to Patriot Place: https://www.goodwillnmi.org/patriotplace
