Al was born to Henry Grady Beall and Grace Allen Beall on March 20,1931 in
Jerome, Idaho. His brother was then born in 1932.
Al started school in Jerome then moved to
Gooding, Idaho the next year.
When Al was in the 3rd grade his father died after a long illness. His mother was a widow with two children at the end of the Great Depression.
When Al was in 4th grade, he went to live with his mother's sister Nettie and her husband Ross Hutchinson. Al lived with them off and on through elementary school, graduating from the 8th grade in
Culdesac, Idaho.
Al moved back to Gooding and graduated from High School in 1949, living with his mother and second father, Clarence " Bud" Wells. To this marriage, his sister Dixie was born.
Al moved around a lot ending up in Missoula, Montana. He married Sylvia Tipp in Missoula on May 1, 1953. They had three sons born to them, Chris, Grady, and Michael. They divorced and later Al married Cornelia Magnussen. She adopted the three boys as well as having five more children, Jeffrey, Kimberly, Karla, KoLynn and Jaren.
Al lived in Granite County for over 60 years - 6 years in Drummond and 61 years in Philipsburg.
While living in Philipsburg, Al was employed at Winninghoff Motors for 30 plus years and also drove school bus for over 30 years.
Al was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ at Latter-day Saints, being active most of his life. He held many callings in the church.
Al served as a councilman and mayor and was a member of other organizations and committees.
Al is survived by his wife, Cornelia; sister Dixie Miyake of Boise; 8 children, Chris Beall of Missoula, Grady and Debra Beall of California, Michael and Theresa Beall of Oregon, Jeffrey and Espie Beall of Bozeman, Kimberly Beall of Philipsburg, Karla and Vince Tecca of Missoula, KoLynn and Ryan Traynor of Helena, and Jaren Beall of Bozeman, 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Al will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Philipsburg Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1100 Sawmill Rd,
Philipsburg, MT, beginning at 11 a.m. A one-hour visitation will take place prior to the funeral service at the Philipsburg Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, beginning at 10 a.m. A graveside service will be held immediately following the funeral service at the Philipsburg Cemetery. A funeral luncheon will be held at the Philipsburg Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the conclusion of the graveside service.
Memorials in Al's name can be made to the Philipsburg School District #1 Scholarship Fund (407 Schnepel St,
Philipsburg, MT 59858), the Granite County Senior Citizen's Center (305 E Broadway St,
Philipsburg, MT 59858) or to an organization or cause of the donor's choice.
