Allen Beans Obituary

Published by Legacy from Sep. 7 to Sep. 18, 2025.
Allen Forrest Beans, lovingly known as "Jimmy," passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, at the age of 96.

Born on August 16, 1929, Jimmy was the youngest of nine children of Harry and Ethel Beans. Growing up in Warminster, he spent his childhood playing pickup baseball games in the yard with his siblings and neighborhood friends, forming the foundation of a lifelong love for sports, camaraderie, and simple joys.

After high school, Jimmy proudly served in the U.S. Army, attending radio school. He then began a remarkable 35-year career as a radar technician at the Johnsville Naval Air Development Center in Warminster. His work took him across the globe, including the Nevada desert for atomic bomb testing, and to his favorite posting on the cliffs of Molokai, Hawai'i. Throughout his career, he remained active in local softball and volleyball leagues and pursued his passion for biking.

In his later years, Jimmy found contentment in caretaking the grounds of Lost Acres, a place he loved deeply. He was a quiet, humble man whose warmth, kindness, and generosity made everyone enjoy his company. Singing, sharing stories, and being with family brought him true joy, and he maintained his adventurous spirit, still sledding well into his 90s.

Jimmy is survived by his loving daughters, Patricia Beans-Clark (husband Bill) and Beverly Meagher (husband James); his grandchildren, Jason Clark, Kevin Clark, Jeffrey Hermann, Ryan Meagher, and Madelyn Meagher; and six great-grandchildren. He shared a special bond with his dear sister, Florence Coleman, and her children, Brad Coleman and Kandi Coleman, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former wife, Nancy Beans.

He was preceded in death by his parents, "Queenie" and "Pap"; his seven siblings, Cornell, Evie, Tim, Ruth, Alma, Doris, and Emma; and his beloved daughter, Barbara Hermann, with whom he is now joyfully reunited.

A private memorial service will be held in the Fall. Family and friends are invited to remember Jimmy in their own ways, cherishing the legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength he leaves behind.

Jimmy's life reminds us that joy is found in simple pleasures, hard work, family, and the generosity of spirit. He will be dearly missed and warmly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
