Allen E. "Butch" Gault Jr.

Allen E. "Butch" Gault, Jr., a Derry resident, beloved husband of Danielle A. (Roberge) Gault and devoted father of Allen E. Gault III, died suddenly on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. He was 48 years old. Butch was born in Salem, MA, on December 10, 1968, the son of Allen E. Sr., and Carolyn (Pierce) Gault of Derry, who survive him. Butch grew up in Burlington, MA where he played several youth sports. He was a 1986 graduate of Austin Preparatory School in Reading. He was a co-captain for both the varsity soccer and ski teams. Butch helped start the lacrosse club which led to lacrosse becoming a school sport. He enjoyed playing hockey as well. Butch joined his father in the family landscape business, Gault's Landscaping. They worked together until Allen Sr's retirement. Butch operated the business with Danielle until 1997. Butch and Danielle then began working in the moving industry. They owned and operated AJ Movers for several years before joining Wakefield Moving and Storage. His job often allowed him to travel and see the East Coast with his wife. Butch was always working, whether it was at his job, tending to his ever expanding garden, around his house or helping friends. Butch was a member of the NRA and enjoyed shooting sports. He enjoyed riding his ATV, camping with family and friends, and just being outdoors. Butch was an avid Patriots fan and held season tickets for many years. Most of all, Butch loved to watch his son Allen play football. Butch will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife and partner in all things, Danielle, with whom he recently celebrated their 21st anniversary. He is also survived by his pride and joy, his son, Allen III "AJ", his parents, Allen and Carolyn and his sister, Janet and her husband James Scanlan of Groveland. In addition, he is survived by his mother-in-law Jacqueline (Draper) Roberge, ; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Russell and Denise Roberge of Billerica, Douglas and Gail Roberge of Dracut; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was also the son-in-law of the late Ronald M. Roberge and brother-in-law of the late Dana and Darren Roberge.
