Allen Lee, 82, of North Little Rock, Arkansas died on July 14, 2025. Allen was born in Maddock, North Dakota to Orville and Vivian Lee, and moved in childhood to Sheridan, Wyoming. He earned a bachelor’s of science degree from Texas A&M University a concentration in meteorology in 1965.
Allen was a meteorologist with the National Weather Service serving in local offices in Kansas City, National HQ (Silver Spring), and Columbia (SC). The family moved to North Little Rock, in the early 1980s where Allen served as the Meteorologist in Charge for the state of Arkansas until his retirement. Allen was often a spokesperson for the NWS on local news platforms during severe weather situations.
The family attended Sylvan Hills UMC for many years. After retirement, Allen enjoyed staring in local commercials, movies and plays. Allen was a member of the Sherwood Rotary Club for many years and served in district appointments. Allen was also involved in the woodworking club, Central Arkansas Astronomical Society, and his high school alumni group.
Allen is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by, wife, Mary Frances, son, Clint Lee (Louise) and daughter, Elaine; his brothers, David Lee (Lori) of Colorado, Dale Lee of Texas, Marlon Lee (Carolyn) of Arizona along with a host of family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street) with a visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be given to Samaritan's Purse.
