Allen Ray McGrew, 41, Summerville, SC, passed away suddenly July 4, 2024. Born on July 30,1982 in the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, Allen McGrew was a proud father of one son (his heart), recently engaged. He was looking forward to having a daughter join the family. After 7 years together, he married his "rock", Paige Morris McGrew on April 20, 2023. Allen was the last born into a family of eleven. He had nieces and nephews his same age or just a few years younger. He followed in his father's footsteps and dedicated 20 plus years to HVAC installation and duct work.
Outside of work, Allen was a huge Tom Brady and New England Patriot fan and memorabilia collector. He was a homebody, not wanting to leave the Patriot Place man cave he built, but when he did venture out, he loved eating all you can eat crab legs, playing with the neighbor kids or spending time with his large family. Allen enjoyed playing video games with his son, and his son's friends, watching football, wrestling and Game of Thrones. Most of all, Allen had a heart of gold. He always helped the neighbors whenever possible and would clean up the entrance to his neighborhood. If he knew someone needed something and he had an extra or the means to buy it, he would give it to them expecting nothing in return. He considered cooking on Thanksgiving and Christmas as his "Superbowl" and always had a huge spread. The 4th of July was his favorite holiday. He loved this country and looked forward to celebrating it every year.
Allen Ray McGrew is preceded in death by his parents Marion Burns McGrew and Charlotte Belle McGrew and sister Charlotte Ann Hubbard.
Allen Ray McGrew is survived by his wife Paige Morris McGrew, son Hunter Marion McGrew, siblings Marion Russell McGrew, Alberta Marie Glidden (Kevin), Gerald Lee McGrew, William Burns McGrew (Crickett), Linda Sue McGrew, Kimberly McGrew Henderson (Gregg), Lottie Jane Cox, Lilly Jean McGrew, David Wane McGrew and tons of loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Simplicity, 281 Treeland Dr, Ladson, SC 29456 on July 11, 2024, at 11am to 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warrier or ASPA.

RIP Allen. I will never forget how happy you made my friend Paige. I watched you both grow for the last 7 years. I will miss you asking Paige who are you talking to on the phone because I had her laughing so hard. But before she could say who it was you always said oh Mary. I know Hunter and Paige is in so much pain but we got them. I pray for all of the family that at this time they can find comfort and strength amongst each other.
