Obituary of Allen Michael Napoliello
Allen Michael Napoliello, 82, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Holly Manor Center, Mendham.
Allen was born in Newark, to the late, Alfonse and Marie Napoliello. He grew up in Bellville NJ, attending Bellville High School. After high school, he served in the Air Force as a short-order cook before obtaining a job in the mailroom at PSE&G. While working full time, Allen put himself through night school at Rutgers University and earned a bachelor's degree in business. He spent 43 years at PSE&G in Newark, where he worked his way up from the mailroom, ultimately retiring as a Telecommunications Manager. He also ran a small tax accounting business for several years, out of his home.
Allen had a strong work ethic and in addition to working at PSE&G, he enjoyed being active in his community. He served as Mayor of Randolph for two terms and was a member of the Town Council of Randolph for sixteen years. As Mayor, he enjoyed officiating weddings and always looked forward to Randolph's annual 4th of July parade, which he participated in with his grandkids. Allen also played a large role in the planning and creation of both Freedom and Heistein Parks.
Allen was an avid sports fan of the New York Giants, Mets, and Knicks. He was a season ticket holder of his beloved NY Giants since 1976, and loved creating memories with his family at the Meadowlands. His passion and love of sports was passed onto his boys and he coached them both in various local and travel soccer, basketball, and baseball teams over the years.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 58 years, JoAnn, of Randolph whom he has been together with since they were both 15-years-old; his two sons Alan and his wife Anne of Long Valley, and Dennis and his wife Michelle of Roxbury; five grandchildren Lauren, Jennifer, Peyton, Trevor, and Camryn, and his brother Michael of Rockaway. Allen is predeceased by his sister Marie and his brother William.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 7:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph. Funeral Mass will take place Thursday, February 1, 2024, 10:00 AM at St. Matthews Church, 335 Dover Chester Rd, Randolph. Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven, East Hanover.
