He lived in Everett, Washington, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Tucson, Arizona. Allen then came to Oregon in 1981 and married Rhonda Ritter on December 19, 1981. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 50 years.
He worked at Mary's River Saw Mill for 13 years. Then Allen worked at Hewlett Packard in the research and development printer division for 26 years. He enjoyed nature photography and studio photography. Allen loved the outdoors, birds of nature, canoeing and kayaking.
Allen is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rhonda Schmotzer, brothers: Frank (Robin) Schmotzer of Tucson, Arizona, Tom (Michelle) Schmotzer of Port Charlotte, Florida; brother-in-law: Dennis (Kim) Ritter, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial services will be announced soon. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. www.sweethomefuneral.com.
